Ohioans can use the petition process covered under 3506.02(C) to replace proprietary programmed voting machines with open source voting machines. Learn how and why we should do this!
It was not my intention to condemn the moderate Republican with conservative ideals. The use of the word "conservative" today means reactionary and uncompromising to the point of "fighting for" authoritarian ideology. Some of the ideology that they are "fighting for" are ideas that are not the business of Civil Government. i.e. book banning, The MAGA movement is an infection and a dangerous one. One need only listen to the echoes of history to know that.
I do not believe that the MAGA infected or what goes by the definition "conservative" should be allowed to use the name Republican. The last Republican President of the United States was Eisenhower. The rest were crooks and converted southern unreconstructed confederates. Some were not as bad as the others. John McCain was ok and Ford, the poor soul, was ok. But the rest are suspect.
I guess all the block chain and other security is ok, but if you are a citizen with limited access to that technology or just don't want to bother with the hoops and hurtles placed in the path of the voter which will reduce the number of participants, which some Ohio Politicians seem to favor. These measures may allay the paranoid fears of the conspiracy theorist. But if you want to enhance voter confidence in the voting process than institute honest non-gerrymandered districts, rid the state of crooked politicians that steal tax funds and take money for special interests' laws, and ignore the will of the people when they do vote. Support pole workers with tenure and compensation for the job. These pole workers at the precincts seem to know all the voters in that precinct and politely make inquiries. That is just the start in Ohio to rid the state of oligarchs and the MAGA infection.
We have advocated for county districts and weighted voting based on population for the Ohio House and Ohio Senate districts being a pairing of counties so that the districts would be very familiar and would never change. Ridiculous thought for poll workers to have tenure in my opinion for what it is worth. Of course I don't at all agree with your political sentiments in your choice to label moderates as Republican and characterizing it as an infection. I really think the State does need to focus on Major and Minor political party reform so that Parties are accountable to Ohio non-profit law, Ohio ethics laws, Ohio open records requests, and Ohio sunshine laws...... With such things in place I think we'd stand a better chance at reforming the systemic corruption within our government.
